Software and it's categories.

SOFTWARE:Software is a program that helps a computer or any device to perform a specific task,as opposed to the physical components of the system.When you buy  a program you are purchasing the software.But it requires a hardware on which the software is recorded.

CATEGORIES OF COMPUTER SOFTWARE:Software is often divided into two categories.Such as System software and Application software.

SYSTEM SOFTWARE:It includes the programs that are dedicated to managing the computer itself,such as an operating system,file management utilities,(DOS-disk operating system).What would happen if system softwares were not installed in our computer?Well,we would have to type the instructions for everything we wanted the computer to do!

APPLICATION SOFTWARE:Simply it is called applications or in short apps.It is also called end user programs because they enable the user to complete tasks,such as creating documents,spreadsheets,database etc.In academic uses the softwares are Khan academy,Wikipedia etc.
